The West Village was the bohemian hotspot around 1916. In the 1960s artists, poets, and musicians like Bob Dylan, Willem De Kooning and Franz Kline settled here. It still draws many famous Hollywood stars. Forbes magazine ranked it as one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the U.S.A., but despite that, the Village has never lost its romantic character or allure. Its classic townhouses, that you’ll have seen in Sex and the City and Friends, the little steps leading to doorways, the lush trees, romantic restaurants, bookstores, and boutiques add to its vibe and feel. Some of the houses contain beautiful courtyards that unfortunately remain invisible to outsiders. The West Village is ideal for wandering around, having lunch, drinking coffee in the afternoon and a glass of wine in the evening. Enjoy the alluring town-houses, classy small boutiques and don’t forget to savor a cupcake at Magnolia Bakery. A small-town feel in the big city, where you can spot Liv Tyler sipping coffee and Sarah Jessica Parker bringing her children to school. Fashion socialite Olivia Palermo loves to eat at Italian restaurant Sant Ambroeus, Jay-Z and Beyonce were also spotted having dinner together at this hotspot.
