Buvette is a classy, French-style gastrothèque. This small and romantic little place is my absolute favorite spot for delicious wines and small bites in The West Village. And I am not the only one, Actor Jack Gyllenhaal is a regular. The feel-at-home atmosphere is great at any time during the day. Their breakfast scones and croissants are mouth-watering. And in the evenings they serve plates of cheese or charcuterie, and classic French dishes like coq au vin, steak tartare and my favorite: the tartines. Sit down at their bar or at one of the small tables. After 6.00pm the place can get crowded easily and they don’t take reservations, so I recommend you to be there around 5pm.
