Maman opened in Autumn 2014 and has been an instant success. It’s an initiative by Michelin-star chef Armand Arnal, restaurateur Benjamin Sormonte and baker & designer Elise Marshall. Bringing together a mix of French and American cooking, their menu consists of their own childhood favorites and is ever-evolving according to taste, the seasons and availability (most of their ingredients are locally sourced). Their tartines are so yummy! But if you’re looking for something healthier, they’ve got an ever changing salad menu with surprising combinations and flavors. Enjoy their tartines and coffee at the window-counter or one of the seats in the back. But be warned, your clothes will smell a bit of food when you do so (their ventilation leaves something to be desired). During lunch-time you’ll find beautiful and stylish downtown people heading over to Maman to get their lunch to go. Maman often organizes (food-related) events which can be joined by everyone. Funny detail: The place is filled with little white bunnies that are adored by the Instagram crowd.
